Karan Kapoor debuted in 1978 in Shyam Benegal’s, Junoon, which also starred his siblings, Kunal Kapoor and Sanjana Kapoor. He did various British television series like The Jewel in the Crown (1984), South of the Border (1990), The Tooting Lions (1993).
His first mainstream in Bollywood was in the movie, Sultanate in 1986 which also starred Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Juhi Chawla. Later on, he did films like Loha (1987) and Afsar (1988). He has also worked as a model for the brand like Bombay Dyeing. As a consequence of his European appearances, he could not do well in the Bollywood industry. His last movie on the reel was 36 Chowringhee Lane, which was made by Shashi’s production post which he moved into photography as a profession.
The accomplished professional, Karan Kapoor, presently works as a photographer in Chelsea, London. He won the International Photography Awards in 2009 for his picture”Old Couple”.
After nearly 25 years Karan Kapoor has returned to India to showcase his series of photography exhibitions time & wave which took place in November 2006 in Mumbai and continue in other cities of India during 2017.
He’s a grandson of the Prithviraj Kapoor and his uncles were Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor. He lives in London with his wife Lorna and kids.
